Google Ads Campaign Report for Choosing Wild

This is a report created as part of a semester-long group project for my Digital Advertising class in Fall 2021. We were assigned to work with a business to create and implement a Google Ads campaign for them, based on their unique business objectives.

During this time, I was already working as a branding consultant for Choosing Wild, an elopement photography business. My familiarity with Choosing Wild led to my Digital Advertising group deciding to work with Choosing Wild for our Google Ads campaign project as well.

This project was incredibly time consuming and has been my favorite one in my degree program thus far. One of the biggest things I gained from this project was a vast improvement in my website design skills because I personally redid every page on ChoosingWild.com, before launching the campaign.

Using the Brand Style Guide I created for Choosing Wild as part of my Content Marketing class this same semester, Iā€¦

  • Changed the logo, browser icon, fonts, and colors on ChoosingWild.com to reflect their new brand

  • Changed the layout of every page on the site

  • Wrote new copy on most pages to be more informative and optimized for SEO

  • Updated pictures to be more recent and on-brand

  • Optimized photos for page load speed and search engine appearance

  • Used custom code to add a quiz I created with Interact

  • Created SEO-optimized landing pages for each ad group created for this campaign

In addition to web design skills, some of the biggest things I learned or gained from this project were:

  • How to set up a Google Ads campaign

  • How to manage, monitor, and adjust a Google Ads campaign based on daily and weekly goals for impressions, ad clicks, conversions, and budget

  • How to set up and implement Google Tag Manager for conversion tracking and preexisting tag consolidation (preexisting tags included Google Analytics UA, HotJar, Pinterest Conversion Tracker, and Meta Pixel)

  • Keyword research skills and best practices (research done with Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends, Moz, UberSuggest, and Answer The Public)

  • Improvement in my graphic design skills (with InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva)

  • Virtual team communication skills (with Zoom and Microsoft Teams)

  • Improvement in independent problem solving skills

  • Practice meeting real-world deadlines
